ハマスゲの芽生えと塊茎での酸化亜鉛とフェノール類の影響について、環境と濃度を変えて比較した。高フェノールでは芽生えがなかったが、低フェノール状況下で酸化亜鉛処理した塊茎は高い成長率と発芽率を示した。

Cyperus ligularis and C. odoratuのDNAと染色体を調べたところ、雑種の証拠もなく、完全に独立した種であった。特に今回研究の過程において、カヤツリグサ属において、ヘテロクロマチン領域を示したことは新しい発見となった。

Scirpus georgianus（セフリアブラガヤ）が帰化植物として、ボスニア・ヘルツェコビナのバノヴィチで発見された。ヨーロッパ地域としては６種、ボスニア・ヘルツェコビナでは１種のみのScirpus属が知られていた。日本でも帰化植物として知られている（福島大学 黒沢先生からの情報20180209）。
